Ylang ylang (Cananga odorata) has a sweet, soft, flowery fragrance that has made it a romantic favourite. Essential oil is derived from the star-shaped flowers of the tropical Ylang Ylang tree and is used extensively in making perfumes and in aromatherapy. Because of its ability to act directly on the olfactory system of the brain, inhaling ylang ylang can have immediate, positive effects on your mood and act like a mild, natural depression remedy. Similar to Jasmine, Ylang Ylang has been used for centuries in religious and wedding ceremonies. In aromatherapy, Ylang Ylang is used to lessen tension and stress and to promote a positive outlook. It also calms and bring about a sense of relaxation, and it may help with releasing feelings of anger, tension, and nervous irritability. Ylang Ylang is frequently used in luxurious hair and skin products for its scent and nourishing and protective properties.
How to Use: For Aromatic use add 2 to 4 drops of essential oil to a burner, diffuser, aroma stone, or aroma steam, and inhale its invigorating scent.
For Tropical Use Dilute with a carrier oil to minimise any skin sensitivity and apply to desired area. Essential Oils should always be diluted with base oils, also always perform a patch test for a safer usage.
Also you can add few drops to bathwater will give a beautiful sweet fragrance to your bath water and enhance your bath time experience.
Blending: Ylang Ylang blends well with Bergamot, Geranium, Grapefruit, and Vetiver.
